.DISCUSSION...
Relatively green fuels continue to preclude fire weather
concerns.
A south to southwest wind is expected to pick up today
with minimum RH ranging from 25 percent across central
KS to 35 percent across northeast KS. Winds are forecast
to gust between 20 and 30 mph. But fuels don`t appear to
be critical yet. If fuels are drying out more than we
currently have, parts of north central KS could see some
moderate fire danger this afternoon. Mixing heights up
to 9 KFT along with the winds will provide excellent
conditions for the dispersion of smoke.
Hot and dry conditions are forecast to persist through
the weekend with little relief from the heat in sight.
