Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
302 PM CDT Sat Oct 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A weak upper level disturbance over the Northern gulf just south of the
Southeast Louisiana coast is expected to drift west a bit tonight, but will
be close enough to increase low level moisture from the southeast Sunday
and Sunday night. This will result in higher min RH`s of 45-55% across the
region Sunday, along with an increase in easterly 20ft winds near 10 mph.
Isolated showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible Sunday afternoon
over North Louisiana, and portions of Southcentral Arkansas and Deep East
Texas, diminishing during the evening. As the remnants of this disturbances
moves ashore late Sunday and across the region Monday morning, isolated to
widely scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible over much
of the region, but rainfall amounts will be light. Min RH`s will also remain
abnormally high as they range from 55-65+%, but rainfall (if any) Tuesday and
Wednesday will be more isolated, before diminishing for the latter half of the
work week as an upper ridge of high pressure builds back north across the
Southern Plains and expands east into the Mississippi Valley. Thus, above
normal temperatures and dry conditions are expected to persist for the
foreseeable future.
