.DISCUSSION...
Warm and initially dry today, with RH 20-25% this afternoon and
highs in the low-90s. Storms will form over the higher terrain early
this afternoon, pushing east through the rest of the day and into
this evening. Main impact from storms will be gusty outflow winds to
40 mph and lightning, with brief periods of rainfall possible. Best
chance for storms near the fire will be between 2pm and about 7pm,
though more isolated activity may linger a bit longer this evening.
Outside of outflow gusts, winds will generally be light today, 10
mph or less, and somewhat variable in direction.
Winds turn more southwesterly later this evening, around 8-10 mph.
RH will recover to around 75% overnight, with low temps in the 60s.
Sunday will be similarly warm and dry to today. Winds will mostly
stay out of the south, picking up in speed. Expect sustained 10-15
mph, with gusts around 20 mph in the afternoon. Isolated to
scattered showers and storms are expected again during the mid-late
afternoon, mainly along and east of the Raton Mesa. Coverage will be
a bit lower than today, with gusty outflow being the main impact
concern.
