Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
337 AM MST Fri Jun 12 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures will remain in a 3F-8F above normal range through
Saturday. Improved humidity levels will prevail through the
weekend, with afternoon minimums mostly above 15% and overnight
recoveries in a poor to fair category. Slight chances for showers
and thunderstorms with limited rainfall potential will exist
through Saturday, with chances becoming almost entirely confined
to the high terrain of the eastern districts by Saturday
afternoon. A low/isolated risk for lightning-caused fire starts
will be the main concern, along with locally gusty and erratic
winds. Outside of shower/storm activity, winds will remain mostly
below 15 mph and terrain-driven, with afternoon upslope/upvalley
gusts up to 20-25 mph.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
