Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
1100 AM EDT Thu Jul 31 2025

Past 24 hour precipitation...
Isolated drenching thunderstorms over the ridges of WV saw totals
in the far eastern Cheat Basin reach as high as 1-2 inches but
these totals were not widespread. The advancing front left 0.01-0.10
inches of rain across the upper reaches of the Allegheny and Musk
Basins by 8AM this morning with more to come.

Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours...
Rain and storms focused along our advancing front will cross the
region from north to south today. Rain and storms are expected to be
heaviest across areas south and east of Pittsburgh. Rainfall totals
across our basins are expected to be between 0.10-1.00 inches with
isolated pockets of higher totals possibly up to 2.00 inches in
areas where multiple thunderstorms occur.

River trends...
Despite this rainfall, area rivers are expected to remain largely
steady with only minor rises and some falls expected.
