...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Moriches Inlet to Montauk Point NY out 20 NM...

At 905 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located
9 nm east of Shinnecock Inlet, moving north at 10 knots.

The thunderstorm is expected to move into the South Fork of Long
Island in the Hamptons area before 945 PM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
