.DISCUSSION...
Overnight storms will move across eastern Nebraska into western
Iowa around 2-7AM. Skies will become partly cloudy later in the
morning with temperatures warming into the low-to-mid 90s this
afternoon. A frontal boundary across the area stretching from near
Seward northeast through Fremont and Onawa, IA will be the
northern boundary for stronger winds this afternoon. We`ll see
winds out of the south-southwest gusting 20-30 mph south of the
front, with winds staying mostly under 10 mph north and west of
it. Moisture pooling along this boundary will help keep humidity
higher this afternoon, only falling to around 40 to 50 percent,
driest areas are farthest from the front near the Kansas and South
Dakota state lines. We could see a few isolated showers or storms
move through this afternoon as well, but most will remain dry.
The front drops farther south overnight tonight into early Monday,
shifting winds to northerly across much of northeastern Nebraska
down to Omaha. Areas in far southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa
continue to see winds out of the southwest on Monday.
Temperatures will be slightly cooler north of the front with highs
in the upper 80s to low 90s, while areas south stay in the mid-
to-upper 90s Monday afternoon. Again could see a few stray
showers/storms through the day on Monday, mainly near and east of
Omaha.
