.DISCUSSION...
A cold front slides across the state today, bringing 30-50% coverage
of scattered showers as it passes by. Winds turn out of the west-
northwest by afternoon, gusting from 15 to 25 mph. We dry out a bit,
but RH values still exceed 50% in most if not all of the district
today. Dispersion improves to good or very good in the afternoon.
Behind the strong cold front, much drier air settles over the
Florida Peninsula beginning tomorrow. Sensitive to near-critical
fire weather conditions are forecast on Tuesday, with fire-sensitive
weather persisting through mid-week. Brisk northwest winds from 8-15
MPH are expected as RH values drop to 25-35% over the interior. RH
values drop to 20-30% across all but the immediate coast once again
on Wednesday and Thursday, but northwest winds decrease slightly to
around 5-10 mph.
Fog potential...Patchy fog is possible this morning, mainly around
Lake Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
