Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
302 PM EDT Fri Jul 17 2026

.DISCUSSION...
A more typical summertime pattern will continue into the weekend,
with predominantly south to southwesterly flow and a daily seabreeze.
Moisture will gradually increase through the weekend. The thunderstorm
risk will increase each day, with this afternoon featuring isolated showers
and thunderstorms along the seabreeze, with better coverage Sunday into
Monday. The severity of any storms that develop is expected to increase
Saturday into Sunday. A more active pattern for showers and thunderstorms
may then continue into next week.
