Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
301 AM EDT Fri Sep 4 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Significant fire concerns are not anticipated over the next few
days.

Hot, humid, and mostly dry conditions are expected through
today. Southwesterly winds will increase today, but moderately
high relative humidity values should help limit fire concerns. A
cold front will move through Saturday and Saturday night with a
northeasterly wind shift and an increased risk of showers and
thunderstorms.
