.Synopsis for Eastern North Carolina coastal waters...
A southwest flow regime is expected today with periods of
elevated winds with a thermal gradient in the afternoon into
evening. The risk of thunderstorms is forecast to increase
starting tonight and persist through this weekend as moisture
increases ahead of a front expected to cross area waters Saturday
and stall S of the area. Another front approaches and stalls over
the area MON, with SWerly winds ahead of it posing a risk for
SCAs on SUN. A low is forecast to develop on the boundary and work
north through the Carolinas early next week before the front
finally clears the area mid- week with high pressure building in
behind it.
