...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO, THE
GUADALUPE AND DELAWARE MOUNTAINS, AND THE EASTERN CULBERSON
COUNTY PLAINS...

Weather conditions will be favorable for fire spread in wildland
grasses.

* Relative humidity: As low as 5 to 10 percent.

* Wind: Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Higher
  winds in the mountains.

* Temperature: Up to 5 to 10 degrees above normal.

* Fuels: Dry to critically dry.

* Timing: From 12 PM MDT/1 PM CDT/ this afternoon to 8 PM MDT/9
  PM CDT/ this evening.

Outdoor burning and activities that cause open sparks or flames
are discouraged. Fire and emergency officials should be aware
that weather conditions will be favorable for the development of
wind-driven grass fires.
