Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
1236 PM CDT Thu Jul 31 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low throughout the forecast. While
near critical relative humidity is possible for some areas west of
the Pecos, light winds and good to excellent overnight recovery
limit concerns. ERCs remain low. There is a low chance of
thunderstorms over the mountains and Permian Basin this afternoon
and Friday afternoon, but most remain dry. Very hot temperatures
and drier weather begin next week.
