Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
327 AM CDT Fri Jun 12 2026
.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns remain low. Recent rains have allowed ERCs
to remain near/below the 50th percentile for most of the area.
MinRHs stay above 15% for most locations. Winds generally remain
light where driest conditions are expected. Good to excellent
overnight recoveries and more rain chances are ahead through this
weekend, with rain chances increasing early next week. Though
lightning starts and gusty winds are possible with storms, fire
spread concerns remain low overall. Hotter and drier conditions
are expected at the end of next week.
