Bitter cold temperatures will remain in place through Monday.
Northerly winds will become somewhat lighter this evening, but
very dry air (RH of 25 to 40 percent) will linger into Saturday
ahead of a major winter storm. This storm will bring accumulating
snow to the region Saturday through Sunday with the heaviest snow
across southeastern MO/southwestern IL up to I-70. Snow cover
will likely linger through next week with temperatures struggling
to warm above 32 F.
