...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO
2 AM PDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents
  and breaking waves due to elevated surf. For the Coastal Flood
  Advisory, minor, but impactful coastal flooding expected.

* WHERE...Malibu Coast.

* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, through late Wednesday
  night. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 6 PM this evening
  to 2 AM PDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of sea water is likely, around the time of
  high tide, over vulnerable low-lying coastal areas such as
  parking lots, beaches, and walkways. Significant damage to
  roads or structures is NOT expected. There is an increased
  risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and
  surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and
  rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Coastal flooding concerns will peak Sunday
  and Monday from 6 PM to 2 AM each day due to high astronomical
  tides of 7.5 ft to 7.9 ft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do
NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or
stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly
in such conditions, stay off the rocks.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents and breaking waves due to
  elevated surf of 3 to 6 feet on south-facing beaches expected.
  In addition, high astronomical tides of 7.5 to 7.9 feet are
  expected each evening through Monday.

* WHERE...Santa Barbara County Southwestern Coast, Santa Barbara
  County Southeastern Coast, Ventura County Beaches and Los
  Angeles County Beaches.

* WHEN...Through late Wednesday night.

* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip
  currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can
  wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats
  nearshore. Minor coastal flooding are possible in low-lying
  areas near the times of high tides.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional south swell will move into the
  waters Tuesday night into Wednesday, with elevated surf,
  strong rip currents, and potential for minor coastal flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or
stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly
in such conditions, stay off the rocks.
