It`s likely the tornado touched down near the shore of Lake Pontchartrain or came ashore as a tornadic waterspout, but additional aerial imagery will be needed to confirm this as it was inaccessible to ground survey. The tornado was at peak intensity west of Lemieux Blvd where ground surveyors observed a few snapped trees on Cane Bayou Access Trail. The tornado uprooted and partially snapped trees as it crossed the Tammany Trace Bike Trail. The tornado began to evidently weaken as it approached and crossed US Hwy 190 causing only minor tree damage north of the highway. The tornado is estimated to have lifted near Azalea St and Cane Bayou Ln. .Avondale, LA... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 80 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.28 miles Path Width /maximum/: 350 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/18/2026 Start Time: 06:49 AM CDT Start Location: Eden Isle / St. Tammany Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 30.228 / -89.8032 End Date: 06/18/2026 End Time: 06:55 AM CDT End Location: 3 E Eden Isle / St. Tammany Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 30.226 / -89.7509 Survey Summary: A brief EF0 tornado touched down in Eden Isle, LA and moved east. Widespread branches and tree debris was found in Eden Isle along with a few houses with minor damage. One house had a failure at the garage where the wind looks to have been pushed into the garage. The tornado damaged businesses right near I-10 as it crossed over with a few more homes damaged and trees down in Lakeshore Village. The widespread light damage across Eden Isle did make this a difficult track, especially track width, to find. The additional damage was likely inflow from straight line winds and/or debris that was swirling out of the tornado. .Avery Estates, LA Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 12.42 miles Path Width /maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/18/2026 Start Time: 06:50 AM CDT Start Location: 4 SE Eden Isle / St. Tammany Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 30.1845 / -89.7564 End Date: 06/18/2026 End Time: 07:15 AM CDT End Location: 3 N Pearlington / Hancock County / MS End Lat/Lon: 30.2957 / -89.6005 Survey Summary: NWS ground survey confirmed an EF-1 tornado with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph tracked from Treasure Isle in southeast St. Tammany Parish to rural parts of southwest Hancock County, north of Pearlington. The tornado began near or before moving into Treasure Isle where it flipped a large boat on its side. Additional visible damage to homes and lofting of outdoor fixtures was noted as the tornado moved into Martin Drive. The tornado reached EF-1 intensity near Bluegill Drive where it removed shingles off of homes, snapped a few trees, and collapsed garage door structures and blew out a wall or two as a result in two different homes. A defined damage path was observed on LA Hwy 433 and then crossed into inaccessible marsh areas. A weak tornado debris signature was evident on KHDC and is the basis for connecting this damage to Avery Estates. The tornado continued northeast into Avery Estates where minor metal roof damage and tree damage was noted on Avery Drive and Smokey Hollow Drive. The tornado evidently strengthened and grew in size to around 300 yards in width as it moved just south of the northern part of Avery Drive and into US Hwy 190 where numerous trees were uprooted or snapped. Several outbuildings were damaged and tension cables on a cell tower were snapped. It`s possible the tornado slowed in this area as it pivoted and turned more to the east per KHDC radar imagery. Along US Hwy 190 a manufactured home had most of its roof removed and it was shifted significantly off its foundation. The tornado then moved into Pearl River Basin, inaccessible to ground survey. The tornado evidently maintained strength or even strengthened further over this area, evidenced by the deepening of a tornado debris signature lofted over 5000 feet. Tree damage was found by ground survey team on rural roads of southwest Hancock County as the tornado began to weaken and lift back to the northeast. The tornado is estimated to have lifted near or after Point Road prior to reaching MS Hwy 607. .Dedeaux-Lizana, MS Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.38 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/18/2026 Start Time: 08:04 AM CDT Start Location: 8 NE Kiln / Hancock County / MS Start Lat/Lon: 30.5084 / -89.3454 End Date: 06/18/2026 End Time: 08:15 AM CDT End Location: 9 WSW Saucier / Harrison County / MS End Lat/Lon: 30.5757 / -89.2767 Survey Summary: A NWS survey team concluded that an EF-1 tornado tracked northeast across Hancock and Harrison counties. Tree damage was widespread along the track including several large trees uprooted and snapped. Minor damage was done to several properties. The tornado likely continued further northeast since the survey team was limited by flooded roadways and heavily forested areas. .Arabi, LA... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.74 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/19/2026 Start Time: 05:51 PM CDT Start Location: 2 NW Chalmette / St. Bernard Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 29.9631 / -89.9914 End Date: 06/19/2026 End Time: 05:56 PM CDT End Location: 1 WNW Chalmette / St. Bernard Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 29.9529 / -89.9914 Survey Summary: An EF0 tornado with winds of 85 MPH tracked north to south across Arabi, LA in St. Bernard Parish. This was confirmed via eyewitness videos, along with debris thrown to the SE and convergent debris in that direction. Almost all of the damage was shingles off well built homes, fence damage and large branches down. Three houses had a good part of their roof removed. Two were older houses, one built in the 50s. One house had a car port attached to the roof which is where the failure occurred. The third was abandoned and neighbors confirmed it also had extensive termite damage. That and rot was observed on the roof. Given that well built homes had minor damage and the damage on the three houses were from older roofs, the rating is an 85 MPH EF0. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
