A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...
  Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm...

At 922 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was
approaching North Masonboro Island, moving east at 20 knots. Other
storms will be moving up from the waters off of Cape Fear as they
track toward the E to NE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes. If caught on the open water,
prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are
wearing properly fitted life jackets.
