Mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures prevailed across
central and eastern Kansas today. Afternoon temperatures were in
the 50s and low 60s with northeast winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Quiet weather conditions and colder temperatures will be in store
for the central plains tonight, as surface high pressure sinks
slowly southward across Kansas into Oklahoma. Numerous frost
advisories and freeze warnings are in effect across western areas
of Kansas, eastern Colorado, southward into the Texas panhandle.
Overnight lows will range from the mid 20s in western Kansas to
the upper 30s in eastern areas of Nebraska and Kansas.

Warmer temperatures are expected on Thursday along with clearing
skies over the Heartland, as surface high pressure slides eastward
into the Mississippi Valley region. Daytime highs will be in the
70s with sunny skies over middle America.
