...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN MARIPOSA AND
SOUTHEASTERN TUOLUMNE COUNTIES THROUGH 145 PM PDT...

At 109 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles west of Tioga Pass, or 16 miles west of Lee Vining, moving
south at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Tuolumne High Sierra Camp, Tuolumne Meadows, Glen Aulin High Sierra
Camp, May Lake High Sierra Camp, Snow Flat, Tuolumne Meadows Visitor
Center, Tenaya Lake, and Tuolumne Meadows Campground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
