.DISCUSSION...
Highs today rise into the mid 90s-low 100s with the warmest areas
south of I-80. Minimum relative humidities today sit in the mid 30s-mid 40s in
Nebraska and in the low-mid 30s in Kansas. South-Southwesterly winds
10-15mph are expected with occasional gusts to 20mph for southern and
western portions of our area. Additionally, low chances (15-20%) of
isolated showers will begin in the afternoon for western portions of
the area. While there is some overlap of gusty winds and lower RH,
they are not overly favorable for fire weather and green fuels drop
concern even lower.
Saturday and Sunday remain hot, though Sunday does look to be
slightly cooler than the prior days. Minimum RH values stay in the 30-40%
range in Kansas and 35-50% range in Nebraska. Breezy conditions
continue with occasional gusts above 20 mph possible west of Hwy-183.
