Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Glasgow MT

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:

 - Winds will diminish this evening with seasonable weather
expected through the weekend, albeit cooler this weekend. A
Lake Wind Advisory is set to expire at 6 PM.

- An upper ridge builds in next week with a return to above normal
  temperatures.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Northeast Montana was on the back edge of a departing storm
system this afternoon. Expect winds to diminish quickly early this
evening. With clear skies and ample soil moisture, patchy fog
cannot be ruled out in some of the river valleys.

The next system will be in the form of a surface low that moves
east across southern Saskatchewan Friday. NW winds will increase
late in the day as a mostly dry cold front drops in. Precipitation
chances look low late Friday and confined to our far northern
zones.

One more shortwave slides through the region on Monday with
showers generally across central Montana. Behind this wave, the
upper ridge rebounds with temperatures returning to above normal
levels. TFJ
