...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS NORTHWEST AND WEST
CENTRAL MINNESOTA THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

Relative humidity values will drop to the 20 to 28 percent range
between 1 pm and 7 pm today. Look for south winds to increase
quickly by early afternoon with sustained winds around 25 mph with
gusts to 40 mph within the Red River valley to 15 mph with gusts
25 mph farther east from Baudette to Bemidji to Wadena. The winds
combined with the low humidity and dry fuels will bring near
critical fire weather conditions. Any fire that does develop has
the potential to quickly spread.

Check burning restrictions and fire danger levels and consult
with fire officials before burning.

For more information on burning restrictions for Minnesota, see
www.dnr.state.mn.us/forestry/fire/firerating_restrictions.html.
