Significant fire danger concerns are not currently anticipated,
but dry relative humidity values will return This afternoon and
Thursday.
Sunny and dry conditions continue this afternoon and Tonight with
precip chances increasing Friday afternoon. Winds remain light
and variable through today and tonight before picking up out of
the NW going into Saturday morning. Winds gusts on Saturday could
reach over 30mph at times. Min RH values will be mainly in the
30-35% range for most of the area today increasing to over 40%
Saturday. A small portions of east central GA will get down into
the 26 to 30% range but still expecting them to stay above
critical thresholds. Wind speeds will stay 8mph or less Today and
Friday. Mixing heights will get up into the 2000 to 4000ft range
each day.
Precipitation chances increase across portions of north and
central Georgia Friday night through Saturday. Any precip will
mostly fall as snow but total snow water equivalent will be less
than a tenth of an inch for all but the northeast counties near
Athens and Gainesville where totals should remain less than half
an inch.
