Today:

Around the area early today, clouds have moved into most of the
state with temperatures holding in the lower 40s in the east and
northeast to the mid 40s to lower 50s in the west and southwest.

A shield of showers is entering far western and southern Iowa. This
area of rain will build northeast across the remainder of the state
by early to mid afternoon. Highs today will be very cool and only
reach the mid to upper 40s north to the lower 50s south. With
easterly winds and periods of showers, a November chill will be in
the air. Easterly winds will increase to 12 to 22 mph during the
afternoon hours.

Tonight and beyond:

The showers will become more scattered after sunset in the south
while northwest to northern sections of Iowa will continue to see
showers overnight. Tomorrow some lingering showers are anticipated
in the north before the system pulls away.  Some breaks in the
clouds and a little sunshine is anticipated toward the evening hours
on Sunday. On Veterans Day some sunshine mixed with clouds will
allow for afternoon highs to reach the upper 40s north to the lower
6 0s southeast. An additional chance for some rainfall will arrive
Tuesday night and Wednesday, though most areas will see only light
amounts of rain. Highs the remainder of next week will remain in the
50s to around 60 with lows in the upper 20s to mid 40s at times. Dry
weather is anticipated Thursday into Friday.
