Hot and dry conditions can be expected today with highs over much of the the lower elevations into the triple digits and afternoon RH down into the teens percent. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to bring increased lightning activity and the potential for strong and erratic wind gusts this afternoon and evening with spotty rainfall. Some of the thunderstorms could be strong to severe. The combination of hot and dry conditions and thunderstorms will lead to critical fire weather. Sunday through the end of the workweek is expected to bring temperatures in the 90s to low 100s F and minimum relative humidity values in the teens and 20s percent. Weak monsoonal flow will bring a low chance (10-25%) of mainly high-based thunderstorms most days through the week.
