.DISCUSSION... It will be hot and dry today with RH dropping into
the single digits after poor overnight recoveries last night.
Would love to get some obs to compare to what we have out there if
you get some today since we don`t have any very close to your
location. Upslope/upvalley winds are expected by mid morning with
efficient mixing to bring excellent smoke dispersal by 1100.
Models have been struggling with overmixing the past few days, so
while the forecast doesn`t have stronger winds in place there is a
chance that the burn location could see some stronger gusts
(25-30 mph) with the better mixing after 1100 through the
afternoon. No precipitation is expected today.
A cold front is expected to bring cooler temps and increased RH on
Saturday, but it should still be in the 20-25% range. Upslope
winds are anticipated at this location that would allow for a
slight chance for some afternoon/evening showers or weak
thunderstorms. There will be very low chances for any wetting
rains until Sunday when you could see a few hundredths of
precipitation with RH values increasing to 50-60%. Warmer and
drier conditions are expected again from Monday through midweek.
Monday looks to see RH in the mid 30% range before drying into
critical fire weather thresholds by Tuesday and Wednesday.
