.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Sunday...
Elevated fire weather conditions over the plains and Palmer Divide
will ease rather quickly this evening as winds subside and
temperatures cool. It will remain windy in the foothills and higher
Front Range mountains through the night. Any showers and storms on
the plains will end later this evening, while in the mountains a few
light snow showers could last past midnight.
Sunday will feature cooler temperatures and higher humidities as
another cold front pushes across the plains in the mid to late
morning. By late afternoon and evening, areas of light precipitation
will develop in and near the Front Range.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday...
Rain and snow will expand Sunday evening, with the highest
concentration in and near the northern Front Range. Some light
snow accumulations can be expected above 8,000 feet, especially
north of I-70.
Much cooler weather will persist Monday and Tuesday, with any
lingering showers decreasing. Temperatures will return to above
normal levels by Wednesday and continue through the end of the week,
but no significant winds are expected during this period.
