.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Wednesday...An upper level ridge will
shift over the area with winds becoming light and inversions
developing in most areas early this evening. High clouds will
increase Wednesday ahead of the next weather disturbance, with
inversions slow to break in valley locations. Temperatures will be
mild, however. Winds should stay light in all but the foothills
and higher mountains where breezy west winds can be expected.
Smoke dispersal will remain poor in all but those breezy areas of
the mountains and foothills.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday night through Sunday...
The next weather disturbance will move across the region
Wednesday night and Thursday morning, with light snow in the
mountains. Then, generally dry conditions will persist through the
weekend with the only exception being a chance of light snow on
the northeast plains Friday and Friday night behind a backdoor
cold front. Cooling from this front will be short-lived, with
above normal temperatures redeveloping for the weekend.
