...FREEZE UP FOR SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS IN THE ANCHORAGE AREA...

Recent and forecast abnormally cold temperatures are causing rivers
and streams in Southcentral Alaska to rapidly freeze up. During
rapid freeze up situations, rapid stage increases are likely as
anchor and shore ice form and channel conveyance capacity decreases,
causing ice jams and dams to develop. Expect localized flooding
upstream of any ice jams that form until freeze up is complete.

Locations Affected: Local small rivers and streams in the Anchorage
area, including but not limited to Campbell Creek, Chester Creek,
Ship Creek and
Peters Creek.
