Ice accumulation of a light glaze. Refreezing surfaces. * WHERE...Interior Kenai Peninsula and Turnagain Pass. * WHEN...Until noon AKST Friday. * IMPACTS...Untreated roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, may become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain showers, potentially mixed with snow, will persist through the overnight hours across the interior Kenai Peninsula. Temperatures are expected to fall back below freezing later this evening. Freezing rain in addition to already wet surfaces refreezing may result in slick conditions on any untreated surfaces. Please use extra caution if traveling outside overnight, particularly on the Seward Highway or Hope Cutoff Road. Precipitation will gradually taper off tomorrow as freezing rain transitions to snow. Light snow accumulation is expected at road-level. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. For the latest road conditions call 5 1 1 or visit 511.alaska.gov.
