...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTY
UNTIL 315 PM MDT...
At 238 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13
miles northwest of Bitter Lake Wildlife Refuge, or 17 miles north of
Roswell, moving west at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of North Central Chaves County.
This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 117 and 133.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
