Critical fire weather conditions are not forecast through at least the next seven days. A monsoon moisture plume developing over the region will result in higher humidity and chances for wetting storms going through the weekend, favoring central and western New Mexico. Above average temperatures will persist across eastern areas, more directly under the influence of high pressure moving west into the US Southern Plains. A slow drying of the atmosphere is forecast from mid through late next week as high pressure dominates over the region, with above average temperatures persisting across eastern areas. Winds will generally be light through the period, except for strong and erratic gusts from showers and storms. ................................................................
