ALONG THE NORTHERN BRISTOL BAY COAST...
Prolonged moderate to heavy rain from Togiak to Dillingham is
expected continues through Monday morning. Areas of lighter rain
showers will continue into Monday evening. Expect water levels along
small streams and rivers to rise, especially in steeper terrain.
Expected Rainfall: Saturday Evening through Monday afternoon
* Togiak/Twin Hills: 2.5 to 4.0 inches.
* Dillingham: 2.0 to 3.0 inches.
* Manokotak: 2.5 to 4.0 inches.
* Clarks Point: 2.0 to 3.0 inches.
Hydrologic Concerns:
* Higher than normal river and stream levels have already been
noted. Higher than normal water levels may continue into Tuesday.
* Many lower locations along rivers such as gravel bars are likely
to become inundated with water.
* Heavy rain may result in localized ponding in low-lying areas and
locations with poor drainage.
Next Steps:
* Residents along area streams as well as river users should
anticipate higher than normal water levels and are advised to
monitor weather and river forecasts.

As of 1 PM on Saturday, the Tanana River at Fairbanks has risen to
23.45 feet and water levels are still rising. Flooding impacts are
not expected at this time, but some people residing near the Tanana
River outside of the dike may observe high groundwater levels.
Additionally, the Tanana River may approach bankfull conditions in
the vicinity of the Old Richardson Highway in Salcha. Water levels
may also approach Ruger Trail near Bradbury Road.

The headwater tributaries of the Koyukuk, Kobuk, and Noatak Rivers
have received substantial rainfall this week leading to record
crests at Slate Creek near Coldfoot (30 years of record) and Dahl
Creek near Kobuk (39 years of record). The crests from the early
week rainfall are making their way down the main stems of the Kobuk,
Koyukuk, and Noatak Rivers.
Rain is expected to return Saturday afternoon with 1 to 2 inches of
additional rainfall expected through Tuesday. River levels are now
expected to remain high through the middle of next week.
