...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Along the Tanana River from 6 miles downstream of Manley
  Hot Springs

* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Be prepared for fluctuating water levels and flooding as
the ice jam moves downriver. It is possible for the current jam
to degrade and to reform further downstream.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - An ice jam has formed ~6 miles downstream of Manley and is
causing minor flooding at the community park along the
slough. As of midday Wednesday, the River Watch team reports
that this jam does not appear to be strong.

However, ice is still in place and looks strong at the jam
point which caused flooding in 2022. It is possible that when
the jam just down stream of Manley breaks, that it will form
back up near the 2022 location, but the flooding should not
become much worse than it is currently. When the jam finally
releases and ice flushes further down stream, river levels
are expected to come back down in the Manley area.

There is not significant ice upstream of Manley.

  - Please stay tuned to NOAA weather radio or your favorite local
weather news source for updates on this situation.
  - If you live by the Tanana River near Manly Hot Springs stay
alert and be prepared to take action.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

Stay tuned to further developments by listening to your local radio,
television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM CDT THURSDAY THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,
Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Northern Calcasieu,
Rapides and Vernon and southeast Texas, including the following
areas, Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Northern Orange,
Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, Tyler and Upper Jefferson.

* WHEN...From 1 AM CDT Thursday through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and
streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Convection is expected to develop over South Central Texas
late today. This area of convection will scoot eastward
beneath a lower level shortwave trof, arriving to southeast
Texas Thursday morning. Ahead of the trof, lowering heights
and deeply entrenched moisture over Louisiana will assist in
the development of showers into central and southeast Texas
late tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will spread into
southeast Texas counties prior to sunrise Thursday morning
and continue spreading eastward through the morning. Very
rain-efficient conditions are expected with PWAT values 1.60
to 1.95 inches in place ahead of storms. Rainfall rates of 1
to 3 inches per hour will be possible and areas with ongoing
flooding are urged to be mindful of very swiftly exacerbated
flooding conditions. Current forecasts indicate the line will
move fairly progressively, however, any deviation or slow-
down of precipitation would likely result in another 2 to 4
inches of rain inside the flood watch area. Isolated higher
    amounts will be possible.
