* WHAT...A prolonged period of dangerously cold wind chills as low
as -25 to -35 below.
* WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east
central, and south central Nebraska.
* WHEN...Until noon CST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest wind chills will be favored
during the overnight and morning hours each day. However, even
afternoon wind chills Today and Wednesday will still remain
quite cold, with values of only -10 to -20 expected.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.
To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

with gusty north winds to produce dangerously cold wind chills
between 10 above to 10 below zero.
* WHERE...All of west central Texas.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could
result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and
hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
An Extreme Cold Warning means that dangerously low temperatures are
expected for a prolonged period of time. Frostbite and hypothermia
are likely if exposed to these temperatures.
Wear protective clothing such as a hat, face mask, and heavy gloves
or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing and
possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped,
