The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a
* Dust Advisory for...
Maricopa County in south central Arizona...
Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 715 PM MST.
* At 616 PM MST, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 9
miles northeast of Estrella to 7 miles north of Freeman to 13 miles
east of Big Horn, moving west at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Less than two miles visibility with strong wind in excess
of 40 mph.
SOURCE...Doppler radar.
IMPACT...Hazardous travel.
* This includes the following highways...
AZ Interstate 8 between mile markers 111 and 155.
AZ Route 238 between mile markers 1 and 36.
AZ Route 85 between mile markers 1 and 8, and between mile markers
119 and 143.
Locations impacted include...
Avondale, Goodyear, Gila Bend, Estrella, Big Horn, Bosque, Cotton
Center, Painted Rock Dam, Freeman, Gila Bend Auxiliary Field, Sonoran
National Monument, Mobile, and Rainbow Valley.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
Motorists should not drive into an area of blowing dust. PULL ASIDE
STAY ALIVE!

Phoenix International Raceway to El Mirage to 7 miles northwest of
Peoria, moving west at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong wind in excess
of 40 mph.
