THURSDAY...
* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, dense fog will reduce
visibility to less than 1 NM. For the Small Craft Advisory, west
winds 15 to 25 kt with occasional gusts up to 35 kt and seas 4
to 6 ft.
* WHERE...The coastal waters from Cape Lookout to Surf City.
* WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 10 AM EST this
morning. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 4 AM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Low
visibility will make navigation difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS....Moderate southerly winds will develop this
morning in advance of an approaching cold front, and continue
into this evening. A period of 30 to 35 kt wind gusts will be
possible this afternoon, especially over the warmest waters
adjacent to the Gulf Stream. Prior to the increase in winds, a
period of dense fog is expected to lead to reductions to
visibility early this morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
