...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
LATE MONDAY NIGHT...
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Coastal
Flood Watch, which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through
late Monday night.
* LOCATION...Kuskokwim Delta coast.
* COASTAL FLOODING...Water levels as high as 2 to 4 feet above
normal highest tide are possible.
* TIMING...Water levels will rise Sunday afternoon and peak with
high tide Sunday night into Monday morning. Water levels will
remain elevated through late Monday night and will begin to
subside Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Potential for coastal erosion due to higher seas and
surf with southwesterly to westerly winds. Low lying areas may
also experience flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A coastal flood watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings, and take action to
protect property.

* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Low lying property may be inundated. Some shoreline
erosion may occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water levels are expected to rise 2 to 3
feet above normal high tide line. The highest water levels are
expected Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

some critical infrastructure may be inundated. Some shoreline
erosion may occur.

feet above normal high tide line. This will be an extended high
water event. The highest water levels are expected Sunday
afternoon through Monday night.

and Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through late Monday night.
* IMPACTS...Low lying property including homes, businesses, and
some critical infrastructure may be inundated. Some shoreline
erosion may occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water levels are expected to rise 3 to 6
feet above normal high tide line. This will be an extended high
water event. The highest water levels are expected Sunday
afternoon through Monday night. Locally higher water is expected
for the eastern Norton Sound in such as Koyuk and Shaktoolik
where water levels may rise 7 to 10 feet above normal high tide
line.
