...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EDT TODAY...

* WHAT...Up to 1 to 2 ft of inundation above ground level
  expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
  waterways.

* WHERE...Westmoreland and Northumberland Counties.

* WHEN...Until noon EDT today.

* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas will
result in an elevated threat of property damage to homes and
businesses near the waterfront and shoreline. Water will be 1 to
2 feet above ground level in some areas resulting in a sufficient
depth to close numerous roads and threaten homes and businesses.
Flooding will extend inland from the waterfront along tidal
rivers and bays resulting in some road closures and flooding of
vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip
  currents. For the Coastal Flood Warning, moderate oceanside
  coastal flooding expected, with 2 to 3 feet of inundation
  above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines
  and tidal waterways. For Downeast Carteret County, minor
  soundside flooding expected with inundation 1 to 2 feet above
  ground. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8
  to 12 feet in the surf zone.

* WHERE...East Carteret County, and Ocracoke Island and Hatteras
  Island.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 8 PM EDT Friday.
  For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 AM EDT Saturday. For the
  Beach Hazards Statement, through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Moderate oceanside coastal flooding, with inundation
  2 to 3 feet above ground level, locally higher with wave
  action, resulting in an elevated threat of property damage.
  Flooding will likely extend inland from the waterfront
  threatening some homes, businesses and critical
  infrastructure. Dangerous swimming, surfing conditions and
  beach erosion expected. Rip currents can sweep even the best
  swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Portions of Highway 12 on Ocracoke and
  Hatteras Island may be impassable at times due to ocean
  overwash, especially around times of high tide.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.

Life-threatening rip currents. If caught in a rip current, remain
calm. Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If tired,
float or tread water until out of the rip current. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EDT FRIDAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

* WHAT...Around two feet of inundation above ground level in low
  lying areas due to tidal flooding.

* WHERE...Shoreline in Anne Arundel County.

* WHEN...Until 5 AM EDT Friday, especially around the time of
  high tide.

* IMPACTS...At 3.5 feet, water reaches the floor of the Maritime
  Museum in Annapolis, begins to cover Bowyer Road on the Naval
  Academy campus, and numerous businesses on Dock Street are
  flooded, along with the City Dock parking lot. Bayside Beach
  begins to flood around Harbor Rd and Lake Dr.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two to two and a half feet above
  normal. The next high tide at Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy is at
  1:35 PM and 2:41 AM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.
