...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
MONDAY EVENING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR PORTIONS OF
SOUTHERN NEVADA AND NORTHWEST ARIZONA...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Fire
Weather Watch, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through
Monday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Arizona...Fire weather zones 101 and 102. In
  Nevada...Fire weather zones 462, 464, 465, and 466.

* TIMING...from 12 pm PDT/MST until 8 pm PDT/MST Monday.

* WIND...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 35 mph.

* HUMIDITY...3 to 8 percent.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.

WESTERN NEVADA AND THE EASTERN SIERRA...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect from
Monday afternoon through Monday evening.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 420 Northern Sierra Front
  including Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Southern Washoe,
  Western Lyon, and Far Southern Lassen Counties, Fire Weather
  Zone 421 Southern Sierra Front including Alpine, Northern
  Mono, Southern Lyon, and Western Mineral Counties and Fire
  Weather Zone 429 Lahontan Basin including Churchill and
  Eastern Mineral Counties.

* Winds...West 20-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Humidity...Minimum humidity of 5-15% Monday afternoon with
  limited recoveries Monday morning of 20-30%.

* Duration...3 to 6 hours

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can
  cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first
  responders can contain them.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid outdoor activities that can cause a spark near dry
vegetation, such as yard work, target shooting, or campfires.
Follow local fire restrictions. Check weather.gov/reno for
updates and livingwithfire.info for preparedness tips.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 489 San Rafael Swell, Fire
  Weather Zone 494 Henry Mountains, Fire Weather Zone 495 Color
  Country West Desert, Fire Weather Zone 496 Color Country
  Mountains, Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave Desert and Fire
  Weather Zone 498 Grand Staircase.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.


* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 5 percent. Overnight relative
  humidity leading into the day will be as low as 12 to 15
  percent. Continued poor overnight recoveries are expected into
  Tuesday, with values as low as 12 to 15 percent in zone 494 and
  much of zone 497 and 498.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any
  new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that there is a potential for critical
fire weather conditions. Continue to monitor for the latest
forecasts and for possible Red Flag Warnings.
