...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM CDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA COUNTY...
At 712 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over southwestern Oklahoma City, or near The Fairgrounds,
moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado and tennis ball size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.
Locations impacted include...
Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Choctaw, Warr Acres,
The Village, Spencer, Nichols Hills, Jones, Nicoma Park, Valley
Brook, Tinker Air Force Base, Forest Park, Woodlawn Park, Lake Aluma,
and Smith Village.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 35 between mile markers 122 and 137.
Interstate 40 between mile markers 142 and 164.
Interstate 44 between mile markers 115 and 130.
Interstate 240 between mile markers 1 and 6, and between mile
markers 15 and 16.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a storm shelter, safe room, or an interior
room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you
are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest
substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
