...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON FOR
LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 434,
435, 436, AND 437...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 5 PM MST this afternoon.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 434. Fire weather zone
  435. Fire weather zone 436. Fire weather zone 437.

* WIND...Westerly winds at 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph
  expected.

* HUMIDITY...12 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY ACROSS SOUTHWEST SD...

.Gusty west winds will develop today ahead of a cool front in
southwest SD. Deep mixing and very dry air will allow winds gusts
to 40 mph with RH down to around 15 percent this afternoon. This
will support critical fire weather conditions when combined with
receptive fuels.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from 11 AM this morning to 5 PM MST this afternoon. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 321 Southern Black Hills,
  322 Fall River County Area, 325 Custer County Plains, 326 Pine
  Ridge Area, 332 Badlands Area and 333 Bennett County Area.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and low relative
  humidity will produce critical fire weather conditions.
