...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ON THE PLAINS THIS
AFTERNOON...

This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Winds will gust up to 40 mph over the eastern plains this
afternoon. Low humidities plus the wind will create elevated fire
danger. Scattered showers will develop over the mountains this
afternoon and move east across the plains in the late afternoon
and evening. The showers will produce light rainfall and wind
gusts up to 40 mph. Scattered showers will continue in the
mountains overnight, with the snow level lowering to between 9 and
10 thousand feet. Any accumulation overnight will be less than 2
inches.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

A storm system will bring snow to the mountains Friday through
Sunday night with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms on the
plains. There could be travel impacts over the highest mountain
passes Friday night and Saturday. By Sunday, temperatures will
warm somewhat, even in the mountains, so significant snow
accumulations are not expected. Upper ridging and dry conditions
return Monday through at least next Thursday, and likely beyond
that.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Colorado, southwest
Colorado, west central Colorado, east central Utah, northeast Utah
and southeast Utah.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Expect scattered thunderstorms today and tonight as another upper
level disturbance moves over the region. Snow accumulations are
likely above treeline across the eastern Uinta and San Juan
Mountains today and tonight with amounts up to 12 inches possible,
mainly above 9,000 feet, but as low as 8,000 feet in the Uintas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A significant storm drops to northern Arizona Friday and will linger
there through the weekend. This system will bring scattered
thunderstorms and widespread mountain snow. Some mountain areas are
likely to see their first significant snowfall of the season
beginning tonight, mainly above 8,000 to 9,000 feet. The latest
guidance suggested the eastern Uinta and San Juan Mountains are
particularly favored for heavy snow bringing potentially hazardous
road conditions over the passes. Accumulating snow is likely
elsewhere, but amounts will be lighter.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
