FOR SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 422...

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 422 Sawtooth Range/Northern
  Sawtooth NF. Coverage will be highest from near Galena Summit
  northward.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected.
  Lightning may generate new fire starts. Any new fire starts or
  existing fires may spread rapidly.

* THUNDERSTORMS...A mix of wet and dry thunderstorms with 20 to
  35 percent coverage.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts over 35 mph possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly based on these criteria
for Southeastern Idaho:

- Relative humidity at or below 15 percent and wind gusts of at
least 25 mph in the mountains, or 30 mph in the Snake Plain.

- Thunderstorm coverage of 25 percent, without specific rainfall
criteria.

- Other high impact events deemed critical by the National
Weather Service and area fire management agencies.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 478 Salt Lake Desert, Fire
  Weather Zone 479 Wasatch Mountains, Fire Weather Zone 482
  Western Uintah Basin, Fire Weather Zone 484 Tavaputs Plateau,
  Fire Weather Zone 488 Manti National Forest, Fire Weather Zone
  492 Central Utah West Desert and Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave
  Desert.

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Winds will
  decrease overnight Friday. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts
  to 45 mph will redevelop Saturday afternoon and continue into
  Saturday evening.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 5 to 10 percent Friday afternoon
  and evening and 10 to 15 percent Saturday afternoon and evening.
  Poor overnight recovery south of I-80, with little to no
  recovery south and east of a line from near Ibapah to Provo to
  Moon Lake.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any
  new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly.

...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY...

.A strong low pressure system will begin to move into the area
later today, bringing a cold front through the area early Friday
morning. Widespread showers will follow behind the front
throughout the day Friday into Saturday, however clearing behind
the front late Friday morning will enable scattered
thunderstorm development. Thunderstorms may produce erratic
outflow gusts up to 50 mph.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon MDT /11 AM
PDT/ Friday to 6 AM MDT /5 AM PDT/ Saturday. The Fire Weather
Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 400 Northern
  Boise BLM, 420 Treasure Valley BLM, 423 Owyhee Mountains, 424
  Western Twin Falls BLM and 426 Southern Highlands. In Oregon,
  Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM, 671 Steens Mountain, 672
  Southern Grasslands, 673 Central Canyonlands and 674
  Northwestern Vale BLM.

* TIMING...From noon MDT /11 AM PDT/ Friday to 6 AM MDT /5 AM
  PDT/ Saturday.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
