* WHAT...High temperatures 97 to 102 degrees expected in the valleys.
* WHERE...Northern Lander and Northern Eureka, Northern Elko, South
Central Elko, Southwest Elko, and Humboldt Counties.
* WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM PDT this evening.
For the second Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 8 PM PDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, remain out
of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

This will pose a moderate risk of heat-related illness.
* WHERE...East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades and Wallowa County.
* WHEN...From noon Saturday to 9 PM PDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An alternative scenario is lingering cloud
cover from possible thunderstorms from southern Oregon may result
in lower than forecast afternoon temperatures or higher than
forecast overnight low temperatures.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
