...AIR QUALITY ADVISORY FROM THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY FOR CUSTER COUNTY...

* WHAT...Air Quality Advisory because of degraded air quality due
  to wildfire smoke. Air Quality Index is forecast to be
  Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

* WHERE...Custer County.

* WHEN...Until 3 PM Monday.

* IMPACTS...Members of sensitive groups may experience health
effects. The general public is less likely to be affected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Air pollutants can cause breathing difficulties for children, the
elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those
individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or
smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor
activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air
quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals
limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors.

...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM MDT MONDAY...

The following message is transmitted on behalf of the Wyoming
Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Division, and the
Wyoming Department of Health.

* WHAT...Air Quality Alert for Wildfire Smoke.

* WHERE...West-central Wyoming.

* WHEN...Now through 1 PM MDT Monday September 9.

* IMPACTS...Smoke from the Fish Creek Fire near Togwotee Pass
  continues to impact much of west-central Wyoming. The smoke could
  limit visibilities at times.

HEALTH INFORMATION...The Wyoming Department of Health recommends
that the elderly, young children, and individuals with respiratory
problems avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor
activities during this time. Wildfire smoke is made up of a variety
of pollutants, including particulate matter and ozone, which can
cause respiratory health effects. Although these people are most
susceptible to health impacts, the Department of Health also advises
that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to poor air quality
conditions.

CURRENT CONDITIONS...The Wyoming Department of Environmental
Quality, Air Quality Division offers near real-time air quality data
for Wyoming`s monitoring stations and health effects information to
help the public interpret current conditions. Current air quality
conditions across the state of Wyoming can be found at

...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT...

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air
quality alert for Beaverhead, Deer Lodge, Granite, Ravalli, and
Silver Bow counties in effect until 8AM 9/8/2024 elevated particulate
levels from wildfire smoke This alert will be updated again at 800am
9/8/2024.

An Air Quality Alert means that particulates have been trending
upwards and that an exceedence of the 24 hour National Ambient Air
Quality Standard (NAAQS) has occurred or may occur in the near
future.

As of 8AM, Particulate levels in Hamilton are Unhealthy for Sensitive
Groups

As of 8AM, Particulate levels in Butte, Dillon are Moderate

When air quality is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups... State and local
health officials recommend that people with respiratory or heart
disease, the elderly and children should limit prolonged exertion.

When air quality is Moderate... State and local health officials
recommend that unusually sensitive people should consider reducing
prolonged or heavy exertion.
