...AIR QUALITY ADVISORY HAS BEEN CANCELLED...

Air quality around Government Camp, Timothy Lake, Bennett Pass, and
Lost Lake has improved this afternoon. Onshore flow will allow air
quality to improve through Sunday. Patchy area of smoke may still be
present in areas close to wildfires.

An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies:

Nez Perce Tribe

An Air Quality Alert has been issued for the Nez Perce Reservation
due to smoke from wildfires. Wildfire smoke may move in and out of
the area depending on fire and wind activity; some areas may be more
impacted than others. Air Quality Index has been ranging from
UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS to UNHEALTHY.

This action will remain in effect until 10 AM PDT Monday, September
9th.

Health Impacts and Recommended Actions: Those who experience health
effects from smoke include children under 18, elders, pregnant
women, people with asthma or have difficulty breathing, diabetes,
heart problems or otherwise compromised health, and people who have
high exposure (those who work, exercise, or spend extensive time
outdoors).

* WHAT...Air Quality Advisory due to smoke from wildfires.

Air Quality Index ranging from UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS to UNHEALTHY.

* WHERE...All Areas on the Nez Perce Reservation.

* WHEN...Until 10:00 AM PDT September 9th.

* IMPACTS...Those who experience health effects from smoke include
  children under 18, elders, pregnant women, people with asthma
  or have difficulty breathing, diabetes, heart problems or
  otherwise compromised health, and people who have high exposure
  (those who work, exercise, or spend extensive time outdoors).

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Under the most severe pollution level, sensitive groups should avoid
outdoor exposure and limit indoor activities, and everyone should
restrict their outdoor activities.

Counties...

* WHAT...Air Quality Advisory because of degraded air quality due to
wildfire smoke.

Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

* WHERE...Ada, Adams, Canyon, Gem, Payette, and Washington Counties.

* WHEN...UNTIL 3 PM MDT MONDAY.

* IMPACTS...Members of sensitive groups may experience health
effects. The general public is not likely to be affected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Air pollutants can cause breathing difficulties for children, the
elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those
individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or
smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor
activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air
quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals
limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors.

* WHAT...High concentration of smoke particulates from wildfire
  smoke.

* WHERE...Northern Harney and Malheur Counties.

* WHEN...UNTIL 9 AM PDT MONDAY.

* IMPACTS...Smoke can irritate the eyes, lungs and worsen some
  medical conditions. People most at risk to adverse health effects
  include infants, young children, people with heart or lung
  disease, older adults, and pregnant women.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on
  weather. Check current conditions on the Oregon Smoke Information
  Blog, DEQ`s Air Quality Index, or by downloading the free
  OregonAIR app on your smartphone.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* Stay inside if possible. Keep windows and doors closed.

* Avoid strenuous outdoor activity.

* Use high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters in indoor
  ventilation systems or portable air purifiers.

* Be aware of smoke in your area and avoid places with the highest
  levels.

* If you have heart or lung disease, or asthma, follow your
  healthcare provider`s advice.
