...EXTREME HEAT WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8
PM EDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Persistent hot and humid conditions with heat index values
up to 105 expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and much
of the western and central lowlands of West Virginia.
* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extended high heat and humidity events.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
