Patchy freezing fog/drizzle is possible across central Kansas this
morning through around midday. Isolated icy spots on roadways may be
possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Wind chill values early Sunday morning are expected to be around
zero for much of the area.

and south of Highway 96 through the mid to late morning hours.
Areas of freezing fog may redevelop across far west central and
far southwest Kansas early Sunday morning.

DISCUSSION...
A strong cold front will move through the region today bringing
much colder temperatures and gusty northerly winds across the area
by this afternoon and evening. Wind chill tonight will dip into
the teens and single digits.

Spotter Activation Not Expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
SUNDAY...High Wind Potential.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY...No Hazards.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Gusty northerly winds continue into Sunday morning before
lessening during the afternoon hours. The combination of cold
temperatures and gusty winds will lead to wind chill values in the
single digits Sunday morning across a good part of the area. A
quick warmup is expected into next week as above average
temperatures return along with occasionally breezy winds. Dry
weather looks to persist through the period.

Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited excessive cold risk.
  Limited Fog risk.
  Elevated ice accumulation risk.

DISCUSSION...

Freezing drizzle is possible at times this morning and afternoon,
mainly along and north of a line from Fort Scott, KS to Nevada,
Stockton, Bolivar, Hartville, Houston, and Eminence in Missouri. A
glaze of ice will be possible on untreated surfaces where freezing
drizzle occurs.

Patchy fog will continue into this morning.

Much colder air will move into the area this evening and tonight,
resulting in overnight lows of 5-15 degrees and wind chills values
as cold as -10 to 0 degrees.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Much colder temperatures behind an arctic front Sunday through
Monday morning. Minimum wind chill values around -10 to 0 degrees
Sunday morning.
