.Snow will gradually end from west to east later this afternoon and
evening. Gusty northwest winds will develop this evening with gusts
over 40 possible through the overnight causing blowing and drifting
of snow.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3
  inches. Winds gusting over 40 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
  south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible at times.
  The Iowa DOT has listed Travel is Not Advised across parts of
  central Iowa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches.
  Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
  Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strongest winds are expected late this
  afternoon and tonight, causing areas of blowing and drifting snow.
