The combination of heat and humidity will lead to heat index
values approaching the upper 90s this afternoon. A few locations
along and south of I-64 could approach triple digit heat indices.

Use caution if planning to be outdoors. Drink plenty of fluids,
stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check in
with relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

...Hot Conditions Expected Again Today...

Heat impacts are expected today due to the combination of high
temperatures in the 90s in most areas and dewpoints around 70.
This will result in heat indices ranging from the upper 90s to
nearly 105. The heat will be most impactful to those in heat-
sensitive industries, as well as for vulnerable populations such
as the elderly, young children and infants, as well as pets.
Please use proper heat precautions such as drinking plenty of
water and seeking shade when outdoors for prolonged periods of
