...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southwestern Cleveland County in the piedmont of North
  Carolina...
  Southeastern Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
  Cherokee County in upstate South Carolina...
  Northeastern Spartanburg County in upstate South Carolina...

* WHEN...Until 145 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some
  low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1052 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Spartanburg, Shelby, Gaffney, Boiling Springs SC, Boiling Springs
    NC, Pacolet, Cowpens, Blacksburg, Mayo and Chesnee.

posting on our Facebook page, or by posting on X using hashtag
NWSGSP. Your message should describe the specific location, address,
or intersection where impacts occurred and the depth of flooding
observed.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
